Cleaning Tips
CLEANING TIPS IN THE KITCHEN & BATH:
1. Regularly disinfect any area that is often touched with hands, such as the fridge door, handles, faucets and doorknobs.
2. Use a trash can with a lid. Clean and disinfect it regularly.
3. Avoid contact between raw foods and cooked foods and use separate cutting boards for them.
4. Remove food debris from tables and high chairs, and then disinfect them before meals.
5. Change hand towels and tea cloths regularly.
6. Do not use tea towels to dry your hands.
7. Never allow pets or other animals onto kitchen surfaces or near your food.

KITCHEN HYGIENE:
Simple hand washing is one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of germs. Wash your hands properly before handling or preparing any food, and immediately after handling raw food. It's important to make sure that all your food preparation surfaces are hygienically clean before use and decontaminate them after contact with raw food. Decontaminate small items such as crockery, pans and chopping boards by scrubbing them in hot water and detergent and rinsing them thoroughly under clean water. Larger items (e.g. work surfaces, tables) that you cannot rinse properly need to be decontaminated using a hygienic cleaner or a disinfectant.

DID YOU KNOW?
Using soiled cleaning cloths spreads germs so, if possible, use disposable cleaning cloths. If you have to re-use cloths, decontaminate them by hot machine washing, boiling, or using a disinfectant.

FACT:
The main sources of germs in our homes are people, pets, food and water.

BATHROOM CLEANING:
Cleaning Ceramic Tile Walls

Regular cleaning can be done with detergent and water, and rinsed; or commercial household cleaners or bathroom cleaners used according to label directions. Do not use scouring powders or other abrasives which can scratch the finish.

Special cleaning may be needed for ceramic tile in bathrooms if there is a buildup of: soap scum, a rough white coating, or mildew.

Squeegee or wipe down your shower after each use to further prevent buildup. If you're tired of fighting the soap scum buildup, switch to liquid soap, or natural soap. It's the talc in most bar soaps that causes the buildup. Changing soap can eliminate the buildup. You still need to clean the shower once a week, but the job is easier.
